Chicago Rush & Chicago Fire Jrs West Win National Presidents Cup Titles

Chicago Rush (15U Boys) & Chicago Fire Jrs West (17U Girls) hit all the right notes in Music City winning US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup titles in Tennessee yesterday.
 
2004 (15U) Boys Midwest Presidents Cup Champions: Chicago Rush

Zachary Heitkemper, William Kalsto, Kellen Klosterman, Ian Laird, Kyle McGreevy, Gilberto Mijarez, Jonathan Radilla, Braeden Roth, Nathaniel Sowers, Jack Walsh
After a scoreless game, the 15U Boys National Presidents Cup crown was decided by kicks from the mark as Chicago Rush Select outlasted R9 Ronaldo Academy (FL), 4-1, from the spot. Ronaldo Academy defeated Rush, 2-1, in their group match but couldn't get any scoring going as both teams were held scoreless through the final whistle. After a scoreless overtime period, the match headed to kicks from the mark. Rush's kickers made sure they made their attempts while goalkeeper Luke Hawkins stepped up to make two massive back-to-back saves on Ronaldo Academy's first two kickers to seal the 15U Boys title for Rush.
 
2002 (17U) Girls US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup Champions:

After falling in a close, 3-2, game the day before, Chicago Fire Juniors West 2002 Red bounced back to earn a, 2-0, victory over LVSA 02 Red (NV). Chicago Fire got started off hot, finishing a chance in just the opening minute of play thanks to a goal from Alex Tetteh. Age group leading goal scorer Nina Bradshaw added the second goal for Fire midway through the second half to bolster their lead and the Fire  defense held off LVSA's late presses on goal to earn the shutout and the 17U Girls title.


LG Celtics & SASA Spirits also represented Illinois & the Midwest and had great tournament runs finishing as National Finalist and in 3rd place, respectively for the event.

In addition to the team accomplishments, individually each team had players recognized for their stellar play

SASA Spirits is a member of the Central Illinois Youth Soccer League (CIYS), LG Celtics and Chicago Rush are registered to the Young Sportsmen's Soccer League (YSSL)  and Chicago Fire Jrs West represented the Illinois Women's Soccer League (IWSL)
