Heart of the City: Sporting Operations Director

Heart of the City is seeking a highly motivated individual capable of assisting in the nonprofit's program duties. Our Sporting Operations Coordinator will support the Programs Department, including data entry, payment processing, translation of communications and other administrative tasks. Act as a team liaison and communicate with leagues, referees, families, and coaches. Provide on site assistance at practices and events.

The Essential Functions of Position will include:

  • Assist supervisors, coaching directors and coaches with administrative duties
  • Maintain player database with up to date, accurate information
  • Create and generate reports from multiple web-based platforms
  • Oversee registration for all programs, including collection of payments
  • Assist in maintaining schedules for all programs
  • Liaison with leagues, referees, partners and organizations
  • Assist in coordination and distribution of team supplies
  • Daily communication with membership
  • Translation of family communication and documents
  • Attend evening practices, recruiting, and HOTC events
  • All other duties as assigned by Management

All candidates will be comfortable communicating with leaders as well as non-native English speakers. Ability to speak Spanish is essential (written and verbal).

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Intermediate level Microsoft Applications
  • Fluent in Spanish (oral and written)
  • Formal education is not critical

Physical requirements:

The Sporting Operations Coordinator must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Expected activities include walking and standing on uneven terrain and speaking and listening to participants and staff. The employee will need to understand and respond to a diverse population repeatedly and is frequently required to walk; stand; use hands to handle office supplies and soccer league equipment, up to 30 pounds.

This position is located in Waukegan IL and you must work in the office 40 hours per week. No relocation package is available.

About Ela Soccer Club: Based in Lake Zurich, Illinois (Northwest Suburb of Chicago) has been around for
over 40 years and is one of the larger youth soccer clubs in Illinois with over 1,300 players participating
in recreational and competitive programs. Ela Soccer also owns a 58,000 sq ft elite indoor training center
for complete year‐round training opportunities. We are looking for a dynamic individual that has a passion for teaching and developing great soccer
players on and off the field.
Job Duties

  • Drive daily implementation of player development philosophy, teaching methodologies, curriculum & processes
  • Work daily with coaching staff to lead & assist them in continuing to improve their respective areas
  • In collaboration with the Technical Team, drive the implementation of a unique, flexible, but integrated club style of play for teams and players
  • Create long and short‐term seasonal plans for the club and provide guidance to team coaches in designing their team's seasonal plans
  • Identify, oversee and help manage player movement between teams/programs within the club
  • Serve as a Head Coach for one (1)‐two (2) teams
  • Design competition calendars
  • Attend and evaluate games and training sessions to ensure the mission & vision of the club are being executed
  • Recruit, maintain, and mentor coaches
  • Collaborate with Director of Coaching to foster learning, growth and retention of coaches
  • Collaborate with the Staff to continue to improve the organization, execution, education, and professionalism of our membership
  • Works with coaches to drive daily implementations of player development specific initiatives, including a player evaluation process to provide appropriate periodic feedback
  • Assist in the implementation and execution of parent communication and education programming within program
  • Collaborate with Program Administrators to ensure coaches fulfill registration, carding and licensing requirements
  • Represent the Club at functions, meetings, and events as directed by the Executive Director.
  • Provide detailed technical, operational & financial assessments to Executive Director.
  • Work in conjunction with Staff to identify, recruit, hire, evaluate, mentor & maintain staff
  • Assist in the organization and administration of annual club events
  • Communicate & network with current/previous club members, other soccer club directors, &
    state associations to ensure the club is represented to the highest of standards nationally

Qualifications & Experience

  • Leadership of a high performing program or club in youth soccer

Chicago Soccer Academy: Staff Coach

Chicago Soccer Academy of Fox Valley (located in Geneva IL) is now hiring coaching staff for the winter-spring 2022-23 season. Our program has over 500 club players with teams from U7 to U23. Our club teams play at the Local, State, Regional and National levels. We also have over 300 players in our pre travel program where you can supplement your coaching hours or solely coach in this program(no license required). Growth in a position within the club is also possible between now and July 2023.

Coaching license requirements include at least:

  • USSF “E” / “Grassroots License”  for U7 to U10 
  • USSF :"D" or "C" for u11+
  • Experience playing soccer
  • Experience coaching soccer teams before but not a deal breaker as we will put you through our training

Coaches should:

  • Be highly motivated and enthusiastic to pass along knowledge of the game to the players
  • Well organized on and off the field

Park Ridge Soccer Club: Director of Soccer Operations

Job Summary:
The Director of Soccer Operations (“DOSO”) oversees all soccer related activities and the development of the club, coaches and players. The DOSO shall develop, operate, and oversee programs for all levels of play in our House, Travel, Premier, TOPSOCCER, Academy programs and is responsible for all aspects of soccer operations within the club. The DOSO acts as an ambassador for the club and always promotes the interests of the club. The DOSO oversees player and team development plans focusing on technical and tactical training and is responsible for hiring and supervising Team Coaches to implement PRSC’s goals for each of its soccer programs. The DOSO leads the development of overall program goals and activities, and assists in developing PRSC budgets that are submitted to the PRSC Board for approval.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• USSF “C” or higher license or USC equivalent. USC DOC Diploma is desirable.
• Professional or college level playing experience.
• Professional, semi-professional or collegiate coaching experience.
• At least five (5) years’ experience coaching youth soccer.
• Previous experience in a DOSO, Director of Coaching, or Assistant DOC role is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree, master’s preferred.
• Coaching education experience at the local, state, regional, or national level is highly desirable.
• OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Chicago FC United: U11-U19 Staff Coach 

Chicago FC United, a youth soccer club based in Chicago, Illinois, is seeking staff coaches for boys and girls teams aged between 2012-2004 for the 2022/2023 season. Our coaches play a pivotal role in providing our players with solid foundations in line with our club philosophy, curriculum and vision. We are seeking energetic, enthusiastic, and highly motivated coaches looking to develop soccer players in a fun, competitive and player-first driven environment while implementing Chicago FC United’s methodology. While the position is working primarily with U11-U19 players, opportunities to work within our U8-U10 program are available if the candidate is interested.

Job duties include: 

  • Working with assigned teams by planning and executing training sessions in line with the Chicago FC United methodology. 
  • Coach assigned teams at training camps and at all games and events.
  • Maintain an organized environment for the team both on and off the field with minor team administration.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and written, to provide individual support to players with a player-first philosophy.

Minimum Qualification

  • A current/valid USSF Coaching License
  • Minimum 1 year coaching experience
  • Experience working with young players U11-U19
  • Willingness to continue coaching education through attending USSF and USC coaching licenses in the future. Chicago FC United offers a License Reimbursement Program and supports all staff members who desire to further their coaching education.

Chicago Edge

Chicago Edge is a youth travel soccer club based in the Oak Park/River Forest area. We are looking for highly motivated, professional individuals to join our current highly licensed coaching staff to work with some of our youth teams.

Ideal candidates should have soccer playing and coaching experience and possess a license from USC or the USSF. You will work as a part-time salaried employee and the position can be a part time or full time position ranging from 6 to 25 hrs per week. Illinois Youth Soccer's Soccer For Success

Soccer For Success is seeking Coach Mentors to assist in the daily operations of a 24 week program in both the fall and spring for 2019-20. Programs are currently located in Chicago Public Schools; the Coach-Mentor must serve as a mentor and positive role model for children. The candidate must be willing to work for 12 weeks from September-December in the fall, and 12 weeks from January-May in the spring. Typical programs hours, based on location, and would be either 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM or 2:45 PM - 6:30 PM.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities Include:

  • Implements U.S. Soccer Foundation Soccer for Success curriculum.
  • Providing guidance and role modeling to players
  • Overseeing practice sessions that are both engaging and informative with an emphasis on developing player skills within a competitive environment that also teaches the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle, good sportsmanship, and a nutritional diet.
  • Implementing the required monitoring and evaluation policies/tools, including weekly reports, attendance monitoring, BMI and pacer testing etc.
  • Overseeing equipment and systematic return of all equipment at the finish of each session and season.
  • Attending mandatory training before the start of each season.
  • Communicating with (Illinois Youth Soccer) lead on a weekly basis; daily if needed.

Skills/Required Knowledge:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Experience playing soccer is preferred
  • Ability to work with a variety of people in a multi-cultural, diverse socio economic setting.
  • Ability to maintain a professional relationship with Assistant/Volunteer Coaches and School and Community Partners.
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavioral problems
